People often wonder if there is life on other planets out there. They ask things like, “How could God make all those other stars and planets and only put life on this puny one?” This thought also drives the so-called atheist mind, but they fail to process this fact properly. Rather than acknowledge the complete absurdity of life ‘just happening’ on one out of hundreds of billions of planets in the universe, they point their telescopes out into space saying that water is somehow the reason life hasn’t developed anywhere else.
The reality of the situation is this: if Life were a natural outcome of some self directed, non-intelligent driven process, then Life should abound throughout the universe. It shouldn’t exist in only one place in the entire universe. Natural events, like gravity or light or the nature of matter, exist throughout the universe- thus, the term, ‘natural’, or, ‘normal’. Yet, as far as our telescopes can see, Life only exists on our little planet- against all mathematical probability.
As mentioned, some scientists like to claim that this has something to do with the presence of water, but this is patently absurd. Why should that be? Who made up that rule? If Life is the natural outcome of natural processes outside of intelligent design, then Life would form in any habitat, in any gaseous or liquid state- just as it does on earth. Many forms of life on earth live under the most brutal of situations that would be completely toxic to most life forms- and yet, they still exist. Why couldn’t the primordial ooze of another planet suit the alien version of DNA just as well? Isn’t that the very notion of evolution to begin with? That life should develop to suit the environment around it? Of course it is. This would have ‘just happened’ on other planets- right in our neighborhood- all around us, in fact. I mean, Life has had billions of years to develop, after all. If it was going to develop at all, it would have done so by now. And yet, it has only done so on Earth.
To ignore this fact is to be a very bad scientist- as I often say, so-called atheists make the worst scientists. They allow their emotions to get in the way of scientific inquiry. This fact should bother them greatly. As I have said on so many occasions, the argument for Intelligent Design is so much more mathematically probable than the argument for spontaneous development.
It is so much more probable that an Intelligent Being created our universe than it ‘just happened’ on one planet in the entire universe- especially when you take into account that all other natural processes (gravity, light, nature of atoms, etc) hold steady and true throughout the universe. Why would the formation of Life be any different? It’s either a natural process of the universe as so-called atheists proclaim, in which it should be everywhere, or it is not natural and is intelligently directed by God.
Considering that mankind has now created life in a test tube and considering that this new life has no ability to recognize its creator, it is simply more probable, more feasible, that we are the Creation of another Creator- especially since most of the world’s population can sense this Creator and speak to Him on a daily basis. Further, mankind has strong proof of his existence in terms of fulfilled prophecy and witnessed and recorded miracles performed in his name which have never been done before or since.
Further, the chances that a natural process, once began, will suddenly reverse itself, is so highly improbable, that it can safely be called impossible. For example, if all existence began with a massive explosion that led to incredible, beautiful, intricate order, how could explosions from that moment onward only create ugly, disorderly chaos? Did the process of explosions suddenly reverse itself upon creation? At that very moment, did all the rules of natural suddenly change? Did the rules of force, entropy, heat, light, etc , instantly reverse in nature the very second all the universe was formed? And if so, how? That would require an outside force. Again, it is more mathematically probable that an outside Intelligent Being interfered and brought about our creation than to believe that the forces of nature had the ability to change itself instantaneously. Nothing in human experience has shown this to be possible.
Natural processes are steady and true and repeat themselves over and over and over again- throughout the universe- thus, the term, ‘natural processes.’ We expect fire and heat and light to behave the same day after the day. The laws of nature don’t change overnight. Explosions don’t create order. They create disorder and chaos. The idea that the whole beauty and intricacy of Life and the universe couldn’t be brought forward with a mere explosion. That is impossible. That is not how explosions work. God is simply the most scientific and mathematically probable means by which matter and all the laws of nature were created. God set them all into action when he said things like, “let there be light.” Note that he said those words before he created heavenly bodies by which to project the light. First, he created the LAW of light, the NOTION of light. THEN, he created the bodies that would give off the light. The Bible, for such an incredibly ancient text, sets the logical order of events into place as well. It even, ironically, sets the order of animal development almost the same as the Theory of Evolution does: marine, air, land, mankind. Sufficing the idea that God created mass + the creation of Life & mankind, we can study all that he has done and that alone would take all the lifetimes of all the men of all the ages to come.
So, consider this idea- God created Life on only this tiny, puny little planet called earth. We sit on the far end of one spiral on the Milky Way galaxy. There are estimated to be about 100 billion galaxies out there (as if we know). Did God just ‘waste’ all that space out there? Imagine what those points of light really are! They are all burning suns- just like ours! There are planets out there! Just like ours. There are beautiful and colorful gaseous clouds, comets, asteroids and any numbers of wonders we have yet to discover- all out there- and God created it all- but why??
Did you know that God wrote about this in the Bible? I want you to read this, right now, so that you know what and who you really are. You are not nothing, no matter how discouraged you may ever feel. Far from it. You, are a thing of wonder. You, are something important. Read:
“14 For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. 15 The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” 16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. 17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.
18 I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. 19 For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. 20 For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope 21 that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God.
22 We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. 23 Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies. “- Romans 8
Do you see that? “19 For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed.” The entire creation is waiting for you and for me to be revealed. What does that mean? Just look at these pictures closely. These are real pictures from the Hubble telescope. It means that God made all of that for you, and only you. That is difficult to believe. Look up into the heavens and know: all of it was made for your creation. Your creation was not completed upon your birth. No. You became God’s Child when you believed in Jesus. As Paul outlines in verse
14, ” For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.”
You weren’t ‘led by the Spirit’ when you were a newborn. This was a decision you made when you were older. So, your birth didn’t define your full creation. Your completion came upon your ‘adoption to sonship’, when you could begin to call God, “Abba”, which means, ‘Dad’ or “Daddy”. A true, loving and intimate relationship with God, our Father. God created the entire universe to be your incubator. You are that important to God. All the things of this universe were created just so that you could be born and then live long enough to make this choice to become his Child through faith. And look how God, through Paul, puts it,
“20 For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope 21 that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God.”
Can anyone say, “Wow!” The entire universe is made to wait, in frustration! Everything has been put on hold for our birth! Somehow, the entire universe is bound to decay and will remain there until we are all born and then reborn into Children of God and only then, will God ‘free’ the universe from decay. Now. what does that part mean? I don’t know! In the Bible, God talks about ‘rolling up’ the heavens and starting anew. Jesus tells us that he is going to prepare a ‘new home’ for us. Does this involve God moving this universe to a new dimension or somehow transforming it? Or does it just mean that nothing will die anymore? Nothing will be affected by time, or grow old? Who knows!! Exciting stuff! But we do know this much: God made all of the universe, down to every comet buzzing around in the remotest corner of the universe, for us. Not for some aliens that may be out there. For us. The whole universe is holding its breath. It is quivering with excitement and deep frustration- it has been waiting for a very, very long time for us to be born and then reborn into these magnificent and wondrous creatures called the Children of God!
If you ever doubt your self worth, read these passages. Keep your chin up, no matter who berates you or attempts to humiliate you. If we can remember who we really are, then we can have compassion, gentleness and love toward those who hate us because we can pity those who have not yet been born into God through Christ. They are not inheriting the kingdom of God as we are. They are bound for death and that is terrifying for them. Remembering your own honor and who you really are can give you the Spirit to be perfect, as Christ so commanded you to be. You are a Child of God. You are a wonder to behold. Your love and kindness make you bright as the morning star. Be like Jesus, perfect in all you do. This is Christ’s command. And then, be joyful knowing your value to God.
