Warnings About Mormons, Masons, Jehovah Witnesses & Seventh Day Adventists

I had a Facebook friend who is a Mormon. She remains a Facebook friend to many of you to this day. My page has served as a central meeting point for many, many Christians. Lots of you have found each other right here on my FB page and have become fast friends. Even if you have come to disagree with me over the years and have unfriended me, you have retained friendship with people you met on my page. I find that both gratifying and ironic at the same time- especially as some of you have come to almost hate me behind the scenes. Be that as it may, I have unfriended this Mormon because I unfriend all Mormons, Jehovah Witnesses, Seventh Day Adventists and Masons because they are all cults.

I try to not accept friend requests from anyone who belongs to these groups in the first place but these cults teach their members to lie to the world by telling them to use the word ‘Christian’ when identifying themselves.  Sometimes I only find out later during a discussion about their group.   I know some of you still belong to these cults but remain silent about it. That is fine. I unfriend only those who are vocal about it and insist on trying to either protect these cults or try to advocate or push their beliefs on Christians. I must add a note of precaution to all my friends here to not bring Catholics up in this discussion.   I do not consider them to be a cult. So, please, don’t add them to the list in the following discussion. I won’t allow it. I understand that the Catholic church has done many things that I don’t consider biblical but they still remain within the overall definition of Christian. These other cults do not. They deny the deity of Christ; they deny his very identity; they deny that his birth, life, death and resurrection is wholly sufficient for salvation. Catholics, despite their traditions with which we might not agree, do not deny these basic tenets of Christianity. Thus, they are Christians.

One of the hardest things to do as Christians is to warn those we love that they are going to die because they reject Christ. Sometimes the hardest thing to do is to warn someone who is in a cult like the Mormons, the Seventh Day Adventists and the Masons. Each of these cults has taught their members about secrecy and fear of rejection. They have been conditioned to expect Christian attacks and how to deal with it. They will reject you violently and quickly. They will say they ‘pity’ you for ‘being the way you are’ and then they will say that they will ‘pray for you’.  They will claim to ‘love’ and ‘believe in’ Jesus and will call you ‘judgmental’ and ‘divisive’.  They know the buzz worezekiel 3ds. They have been schooled most carefully.

Your own fears will rise to the surface when confronting people in these cults. They will give you every reason why they are indeed Christians. But each and every one of these practices reject Christ in the way I have defined above. The Mormons will tell you they have the KJV of the bible- not so. They have a special, re-written version of the KJV of the bible, the Mormon KJV, which makes over 3300 changes to the KJV, most of which are of substantial doctrinal import. While it speaks of the thief on the cross, Mormons teach that there is no deathbed confession. Thus, the thief example in their version of the Bible is, once again, taught as something completely and utterly different than standard Christian beliefs- namely, that ‘no one’ is going to hell because there are ‘different levels of heaven’- some are just really hot and uncomfortable!! (I jest, but that is correct.) Jesus’ blood is not sufficient to be saved and go to heaven. They also state that God was once a human being from another planet who became our God through his good works. They believe that Jesus and satan are genetic brothers of a real sexual liaison between Mary and God. Jesus, too, became a God through his good works. They also believe that all human beings can become Gods and eventually rule their own planets. They know all the Christian buzz words and are taught to use them in a particular way when arguing or debating real Christians. They say, “Yes, Jesus is my Lord and Savior. Yes, I believe in God. Yes, I believe in the Bible.” But they don’t tell you what all that really means for them!! It’s outrageous when you finally do the research. The only way to properly get one to define their true beliefs is to ask them about death bed confessions. Is there one for them? They will say, ‘no’ and you can take it from there. They are works based and Jesus is not sufficient. They also mimic the Masons through their various levels of secret rites, rituals, symbols and handshakes. The upper level never discloses to the lower level any ‘secret information’ and they are only loyal to their layer and above.

Masons worship the Great Architect, not God, nor Jesus.

Anyone or anything other than God or Jesus is satan. It is an idol. Period. They also have a different book than the bible- it uses words from the bible but it is re-written and Jesus’ name has been stricken out of it. Seventh Day Adventists use the bible but they revere the writings of a woman named Ellen White and have a bizarre obsession with food and health. They follow a weird set of rules that are completely outside the bible, worship Ellen White along side with Jesus and do everything contrary to what God commands.

Yet, YOU must speak to each of these people in your lives. Does this mean you need to unfriend them or reject them? No. You are not in my shoes. I run a public page. I have thousands of readers, you don’t. I have to worry about weak and new Christians who can be influenced by the words of these people. You don’t. I unfriend these people, not because I am mean, but because I can’t have them lying on my page and influencing people who are ignorant of the Word and who are still highly influenced by satan. They need to hear the Word, not satan’s lies. But you must still speak the TRUTH to these people in your life.

This woman whom I have unfriended is still friends with many of you. You need to know with whom you are friends on FB. Be sure to witness properly to those who are on the path to death. God will surely hold YOU responsible for their death. He won’t accept ignorance as an excuse when you see him.  He won’t accept excuses like, “I don’t think it will do any good.” or “What can I do about it?” or “I don’t have the opportunity.” or “I barely know him/her.” or “It isn’t my place.” etc.  There are no coincidences in life.  People come into your life for a reason.  Help them.

Read Ezekiel below. God set us as watchmen at the gate. We don’t even get a reward for warning those around us. We just save ourselves. This sends a chill up my spine. That is one of the reasons I do what I do. I fear God’s disappointment with me. We aren’t on this earth for our enjoyment. We are here to serve our Lord and King. Use your FB pages to witness to your friends and family. No matter how uncomfortable that might make you. Take the time to use your private messaging to reach out to those whom you know will die for their rejection of Christ. Pray daily for wisdom and read the Word of God so that you will be properly armed. These words of Ezekiel are hard, hard words to hear. I give them to you because I love you and fear God. I am your watchman at this moment. May God bless you and keep you. Susan

17 “Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the people of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them warning from me. 18 When I say to a wicked person, ‘You will surely die,’ and you do not warn them or speak out to dissuade them from their evil ways in order to save their life, that wicked person will die for[b] their sin, and I will hold you accountable for their blood. 19 But if you do warn the wicked person and they do not turn from their wickedness or from their evil ways, they will die for their sin; but you will have saved yourself.

20 “Again, when a righteous person turns from their righteousness and does evil, and I put a stumbling block before them, they will die. Since you did not warn them, they will die for their sin. The righteous things that person did will not be remembered, and I will hold you accountable for their blood. 21 But if you do warn the righteous person not to sin and they do not sin, they will surely live because they took warning, and you will have saved yourself.”

  1. I’d like to point out one false claim you made in your article in regards to Mormon scripture. You stated the following:

“…The Mormons will tell you they have the KJV of the bible- not so. They have a special, re-written version of the KJV of the bible, the Mormon KJV, which leaves out major portions of Paul’s writings as well as others. It certainly leaves out the thief on the cross who called on Jesus to remember him.”

The only additions to the LDS published version of the KJV are appendages to the text (Index, bible dictionary, cross references, chapter headings, etc) The KJV text is presented in its entirety with no omissions to the text as you claim. And, yes the thief on the cross is readily available to read in any LDS published Bible in Luke 23:39-43. (https://www.lds.org/scriptures/nt/luke/23.39-43?lang=eng#p38) You have made the claim that you hold yourself to a high standard in what you write about. What about the standard to not bear false witness? You portray a narrative that Masons, Mormons, Jehovah’s Witnesses, and Seventh Day adventists are deceiving “new Christians”. You have claimed something that is verifiable false in your article, and it is not just a difference in belief. Does this not make you a deceiver in the same manner as you’ve claimed against said groups?

Now, do I make the claim that you are not a Christian because of your deception? No, I recognize you as a Christian. In fact I forgive you as a Christian should and as Jesus taught.

I noticed other things in your article that are veritably false, you may want to consider bringing them up to the high standard you wish to present. To disagree with another’s beliefs is one thing, but to misrepresent or make false claims as to what those beliefs actually teach is quite another. Please consider revising, and God bless.

    • Hi David, perhaps I need to be a little more clear. Here is what Joseph Smith and the Mormon priests have done: “Joseph Smith, the first prophet of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, made a “new translation” of the Bible, using the text of the King James Version (KJV). This work differs from the KJV in at least 3,410 verses and consists of additions, deletions, rearrangements, and other alterations that cause it to vary not only from the KJV but from other biblical texts. Changes range from minor details to fully reconstituted chapters. This article presents statements by Joseph Smith telling why he made a Bible translation, gives information relating to the development and production of the work, examines a number of the significant variants, and considers some doctrinal results and historical implications.

Joseph Smith made extensive corrections and additions to the books of Genesis, Exodus, Psalms, Isaiah, Matthew, Luke, Romans, 1 Corinthians, Galatians, Hebrews, James, 2 Peter, and Revelation. He also made many alterations in the writings of the Old Testament prophets and in Mark, John, Acts, and several of the epistles. He made no changes in Ruth, Ezra, Esther, Ecclesiastes, Lamentations, Obadiah, Micah, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Malachi, Philemon, 2 John, and 3 John. He made some corrections in all other books of the Bible, and rejected the Song of Solomon as not being inspired scripture. Here are just a handful of those kinds of changes:

At age twelve, when Jesus was teaching in the temple, the KJV (Luke 2:46) records that Jesus was “sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions.” The JST reads, “they were hearing him, and asking him questions” (JST Luke 2:46).
The KJV account of Jesus’ forty days in the wilderness states that Jesus went there “to be tempted of the devil. And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungered” (Matt. 4:1-2). The JST reads: “Then Jesus was led up of the Spirit, into the wilderness, to be with God. And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, and had communed with God, he was afterwards an hungered, and was left to be tempted of the devil” (JST Matt. 4:1-2). Luke’s record (KJV) says that Jesus was “forty days tempted of the devil” (Luke 4:2). The JST reads, “And after forty days, the devil came unto him, to tempt him” (JST Luke 4:2).
The KJV states that “the devil taketh” Jesus to a “pinnacle of the temple” and also to a “high mountain” (Matt. 4:5-8; Luke 4:5-9). The JST says it was “the Spirit” who transported Jesus to these places (JST Matt. 4:5-8; Luke 4:5-9).
In the KJV John 3:23states that Jesus performed baptisms, but John 4:2largely negates Jesus’ activity as a baptizer by stating: “Though Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples.” The JST reads, “Though he himself baptized not so many as his disciples; For he suffered them for an example, preferring one another ” (JST John 4:3-4).
Jesus’ parables are touched upon in many JST passages. One of the most important is a statement, presented as the words of Jesus himself, explaining why he used parables to veil the spiritual message when speaking to certain individuals: “Hear another parable; for unto you that believe not, I speak in parables; that your unrighteousness may be rewarded unto you ” (JST Matt. 21:34).
In Mark 7:22-24(KJV) Jesus enters a house “and would have no man know it: but he could not be hid.” JST Mark 7:22-23reads, “and would that no man should come unto him. But he could not deny them; for he had compassion upon all men.”
Luke reports that while Jesus was on the cross, he cried out, “Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do” (KJV Luke 23:34). The JST adds a parenthetical clarification: “(meaning the soldiers who crucified him) ” (JST Luke 23:35).
      2. God’s Dealings with Mankind. JST passages bearing on God’s dealings with mankind include the following: Genesis 6:6(KJV) states that “It repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.” JST Genesis 8:13(Moses 8:25) renders this passage thus: “And it repented Noah, and his heart was pained, that the Lord had made man on the earth.” Exodus 7:3, 13;9:12;10:1, 20(KJV) all state that God will harden Pharaoh’s heart. In each of these the JST reads that Pharaoh will harden his own heart:
Isaiah 63:17(KJV) reads “O Lord, why hast thou made us to err from thy ways, and hardened our heart?” The JST reads, “O Lord, why hast thou suffered us to err,…and to harden our heart?”
Matthew 6:13(KJV) reads, “And lead us not into temptation,” whereas the JST reads “suffer us not to be led into temptation” (JST Matt. 6:14). 3. Innocence of Children. Many passages bear on man’s nature in relation to the Fall of Adam, his agency, and accountability to God. For instance, concerning the innocence of little children, the JST states that in the days of Adam the Lord revealed that “the Son of God hath atoned for original guilt, wherein the sins of the parents cannot be answered upon the heads of the children, for they are whole from the foundation of the world” (JST Gen. 6:56; Moses 6:54). To Abraham the Lord said, “Children are not accountable before me until they are eight years old” (JST Gen. 17:11). Matthew 18:11in the KJV states with reference to children: “For the Son of man is come to save that which is lost.” The JST adds, “and to call sinners to repentance; but these little ones have no need of repentance, and I will save them.”

Also, in order to fully understand the full changes to the KJV of the Bible (and to every other true version of the Bible) Joseph Smith ADDED to the verses of the Bible by adding the entire Book of Mormon. In it, it describes the changes to the official KJV of the Bible. In other words, Joseph Smith made actual text changes to the KJV of the Bible AND he added an entire Book to it: the Book of Mormon. We can’t call the Book of Mormon a separate book saying separate things because it specifically names the same people as are in the KJV, but has them saying, doing and believing things that are not in the actual Bible. Thus, even though it might be published as a separate book, it is, nonetheless, an extension of the Bible and must be considered to be so. Thus, when we discuss the KJV for the Mormons, we must also talk about the Book of Mormon because it contradicts, adds or takes away from the scriptures set forth in the official KJV. Here are some examples:

The JST emphasizes that the gospel of Jesus Christ was taught in the earliest ages of mankind. According to JST Genesis 1-8 (published as Moses 1- 8 in the Pearl of Great Price), Adam, Enoch, Noah, and the other Patriarchs were preachers of righteousness and taught the gospel of Jesus Christ, including faith, repentance, baptism, and receiving the Holy Ghost. The official Bible says no such thing. Jesus was not spoken of in this context by the earliest patriarchs. They knew God, the Father but didn’t yet know Jesus, the Son.

The JST states that Adam was taught by a heavenly angel to offer animal sacrifice as a type and symbol of the atoning sacrifice that the Son of God would accomplish. He was instructed to do all things in the name of the Son. Adam was taught the gospel, was baptized by immersion, received the Holy Ghost, and was born of the Spirit (Moses 5, 6). There IS no Book of Moses in the official Bible. You may say, ‘Well, that’s the Book of Mormon”. But this verse is referring to passages in Genesis.

You also refer to the thief on the cross. Perhaps my language is not very clear and I should modify it somewhat. But you are simply picking at nits. The fact is this: Mormons don’t believe in death bed confessions. In other words, they don’t believe that a person who has never done good things can have a sudden change of heart right before death. They don’t believe that person will ‘become a God’ or will even reach a nice ‘level of heaven’. Mormons always love to deceive when they say things like, “We never said you weren’t going to heaven!!” when discussing their views about non-Mormons- or about this thief here. But that is only because they believe in every person getting a different level of deity and a different level of heaven when they die- all dependent on how much money they gave to the LDS church and how many people’s’ roofs they have fixed. But the reality is this: Mormons don’t believe that a ‘bad’ person can suddenly repent and be saved by Christ’s blood alone. That isn’t enough. They MUST add good works to be saved. Without the works, Jesus’ blood isn’t enough. How do I know this, you might ask? Well, I had a group of Mormons complaining on my FB site one day. And I heard all their deceptive language. They will always say things like, “We believe in Jesus!” “Jesus is the Son of God!” “Only Jesus can give us Salvation!” They know all the buzz words to deceive the normal Christian. Heck, I was deceived by someone I thought was a good friend. The part that Mormons always leave out is that God was once a man from another planet. That Jesus and satan are literally human brothers who became Gods themselves. They were born out of actual physical sex between Mary and (either God or Michael the angel- never sure on this part). Yeah, they leave out those bits because they know that we would instantly denounce their beliefs as non-Christian and anti-Christ. Indeed, it’s outrageous. And we would stiffen when we consider how many poor and ignorant people you are fooling into believing you are one of us- a Christian- whom they probably heard about due to the true Christ and his love. You use his name in vain, pretending to belong to him, and then you hold their poor souls captive by telling them that if they leave your false church, they will go to hell- or not go to heaven. You tell them that your church is the ONLY one who has a true belief in Christ. Oh! That makes me so angry.

You come here and pick on one verse I wrote about but I note that you don’t disagree with the worst parts of what I wrote about your beliefs. Believe me, the fact that you think God was once a human being, that Jesus is satan’s physical and literal brother, that he was born from a human, sexual union from two people who became Gods, and that all people can become Gods- all that is FAR WORSE than thinking about the thief on the cross! Why don’t you address THOSE minor problems instead of worrying about the tiny splinter I ‘got wrong’?

  2. I can see the cult aspects of the faiths you mentioned, but Masons are not a religion. I was a Rainbow Girl in my youth, and the only real problem I have with the organization looking back is that it wasn’t a very feminist organization. The Rainbow Girls are a Masonic youth order and are sponsored by Masons. So I was very familiar with the order. Masons never claimed to be a religion, and in fact welcome folks from all walks of life and all faiths to come together for service projects and fellowship. The only religious requirement is that you believe in God. This can be loosely applied, and they do use the Bible in meetings, but we had Christian and Jewish members alike.
Masons are less a religion and more of a community service organization. The secrecy throws people off a bit and invites skepticism, but honestly it’s just to make it more fun. Our meetings were actually pretty boring in the parts that were closed to the public LOL.
I assure you that there is no plan for Illuminati world domination or anything of the sort. The masons are just a bunch of (mostly old) dudes who like to do community service and hang out together with old-timey traditions.

*side note: I started this WordPress account in plans to create a podcast of the same name and I can’t figure out why it’s showing my name as my blog name instead of my actual name….so please don’t delete my comments due to lack of a real name. It’s Jen but I’m technologically illiterate sometimes LOL

    • Hi Jen, what you fail to understand about the Masons is just how evil they are. They aren’t a religion unto themselves, but they are satanic. They don’t believe in the true God- in fact, they hate Jesus Christ and use this pluralistic approach to eventually force initiates to drop their commitment to Jesus because he said, “I am the ONLY way to God.” Jesus, on purpose, made himself exclusionary. They know this and start with youngsters like you with the idea that ‘any’ god is a good god. Eventually, that transcribes into the thought, ‘any god who proclaims himself to be the only God is a bad god and must be denied. Can’t you see that? I’m just glad, that as a girl, you never rose very high in their ranks. And the secrecy is not just for fun. But I’m glad that’s how you saw it. The old guys can be low level and quasi- ok people, just lost, or they can be extremely evil satan worshippers. I assure you that I am not exaggerating one bit. The entire Mormon religion is set up exactly along Masonry organizational lines because its founder was a Mason. That system of levels, rites and secrecy, along with privilege, social status and exclusionary tactics, truly appeals to the weaker minded individuals. It can be extremely powerful once a person is entrapped. And for children who have been raised in it, they find it impossible to escape without losing their entire family and emotional support structure- not to mention their everlasting souls. The very definition of a cult. So… there you go. As I said, I am just glad you saw it as you saw it. And I hope you aren’t in a family who is still embroiled in it. If so, stay far, far, far from those family members and keep your kids away from those groups.

  3. you must of been conversing with SDA rebels. SDA christians worship God the Heavenly Father, and Son of God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. , but Jesus says to pray to our Heavenly Father in Jesus, who died on the cross for our sins.

    • Hi Donald, I don’t think so. No matter to whom I speak, the SDA’s all hold Ellen Whites principles to be their founding principles. They also hold the Bible as their founding principles but she is always there. As long as she is in the mix, they will remain a cult. She doesn’t belong there- she is a false prophet. She tried to define when Christ would return, then failed and said when Christ would begin judging the dead. She has NO such knowledge as even Jesus said he had no such knowledge. As long as the SDA’s remain as the SDA’s, they will always be the group who follows this false prophet and thus will always be a cult offshoot of Christianity. This cult needs to close down and everyone in them needs to go to a normal church uncontaminated by Ellen White.

      • My brother was “cornered” by SDA’s. I believe they have ruined his life. I won’t get into details. Suffice it to say, he tenaciously holds to their views. I should say, the views of Ellen G. White. I had no idea what I was up against. I do now. SDA’s will tell you they believe the same as you. But it is a works religion. Virtually everything they believe is through the lens of Ellen G. White. When I began to do my research, I was astounded at how much they rely on her. SDA is Ellen G. White. They use christian language, but mean something very different. It breaks my heart.

      • I’m sorry, Angela. There is some hope for your brother. I do believe that salvation is still possible for those in the SDA church. As long as they call Christ LORD and put him above all, they will not perish. The sad part about this cult is all the weird practices they include- like the food restrictions, etc. The elevation of Ellen White can definitely become idolatry above Christ and that is the danger. You just have to keep talking to him and ensuring that he keeps his focus on Jesus. If you can get him to do Bible Study, this will save him. That could be the way around these SDA’s. They believe in the Bible. So, approaching him with a proposal to do indepth Bible Study on a consistent basis can’t be something he objects to. Both of you will deepen your faith and knowledge together. Eventually, the Holy Spirit in him will teach him that the SDA cult is wrong for him.

  4. I’m still waiting for your response on the Deuterocanonical gospels. Do you have the courage to post it and debate the truth?

FYI – The canon was set by the early church and the early church was Catholic.. Also, perhaps you could explain how the Eastern orthodox Church which separated in 1054 also recognizes the Deuterocanonical gospels if they were added 500 years later. Also, if the books were added later as you claim then perhaps you could explain how it is possible that Luther and the other “reformers” could have objected to those books prior to the Council of Trent if those books were not in the canon to begin with. It is one thing to believe a heretical protestant myth, it’s quite another to perpetuate that heretical myth once you’ve learned the truth…. God bless…

    http://www.catholiceducation.org/en/religion-and-philosophy/apologetics/5-myths-about-7-books.html

    • sigh. The original canon didn’t include the Deuterocanonical gospels, Steve. Sorry to disappoint you. This is just historical record. This is even Catholic record. Those books were officially canonized at Trent in the mid 1500’s. The early canon was set in the late 300 AD. and didn’t include those books. They were discussed but not included officially. No one said those writings weren’t around for a long time. The Greeks were very flexible about many writings. They also didn’t see the rush or the need to set any canons like the majority of the early church did. They also didn’t feel bound by any authority of the early church. They still don’t feel bound by either the Roman Catholic church or any protestant church. So, they decided to include these writings from the very early days when the Early Church rejected them. The Early Church most certainly rejected them during the ‘canon’ set around 380 AD (I have to get the specific date- look at my latest article for it- I just wrote a brief history of the bible & the Catholic church on this blog).

They were absolutely included as an official, specific act at Trent almost a thousand years later. It was a recorded act at Trent to finally put to rest all debate about those books. Why would it be a specific, recorded act if it was already there? Steve, you are spouting nonsense- even the Catholic Church doesn’t agree with you. Give it up. Luther didn’t take them out. He simply refused to agree with the Council of Trent. He said they had no authority to change the Bible almost a thousand years after it was canonized around 380 AD by the early church. Ok? ok. You tire me. Go read you history or something, ok? You are wrong, I am right. That is the last time I will discuss it. I’m sorry you keep making a fool of yourself.

  5. “The Catholic bible has a few extra books that are not in the standard bible”

Exactly who do you believe it was that put the NT canon together? The truth is that the “reformers” heretically removed those books from canon. FYI – You are not supposed to do that. Read the early church fathers and you will see that they were Catholic….. God bless…

    • Absolutely untrue, Sterve. Those books were ADDED after the cannon was set. Hate to burst your bubble. They were added so that the Catholics could sell indulgences. In order to sell indulgences, there had to be proof of Purgatory. Thus, the books listing purgatory were added. Also, they wanted to confirm the basis for the priesthood- thus, the books for the priesthood were added. All were added AFTER the official canon was set. This is WHY Luther refused to recognize them. You need to get your facts straight, dear. The Catholic priest added these books to serve financial and personal gratification. These are CORRUPT reasons- reasons of the flesh- not reasons for God’s will. They were to prop up the earthly power of the priesthood. They were not the work of the apostles- they were added hundreds of years later. Sickening. I am glad they were rejected. Oh, by the way, the word, ‘Trinity’ is also included in these books. That is the ONLY mention of the word, ‘trinity’ in the Bible- in the books added by the greedy and power hungry corrupt Catholic priests. Luckily, it too was thrown out by Luther. You can attempt to rewrite history all you want, but you can just remake the time line. The canon was set by the Apostles. The catholic priests came over a hundred years later and ADDED their own books to prop up their own version of their own church. EVIL.
They deserve a sound spanking for doing it. They got what they deserved.

      • Short little rebel,

I’ll just copy and paste the truth. Hopefully you’ll have the courage to include this post in your blog. You really should educate yourself before posting. The true Church wins every time. Thanks for playing though…. God bless…

      • Steve, I have a rule on this blog- if you want to make a point, YOU make the point. You don’t get to point to a link and let it do your talking for you. That is absurd. That is also exceeding lazy. Your other comment was also trying to argue about the dates on the original canon- and what do you cite for your proof? A CATHOLIC site! Really? Please just go to a historic site. The information is clear. You also claim that the ‘original church’ was catholic. That is sheer nonsense. The original Apostles created the first churches. They didn’t have a denomination. They certainly weren’t Catholic. There was not even a Bible. There was no Canon. There was no priesthood. Jesus specifically commanded us to never call anyone, ‘Father’ but God, who is in heaven. He told us that we don’t have any Teacher but himself. He told us we were all equal under God. This specifically denounces any kind of priesthood. Christ is the final priest. IN FACT, it is exactly while he was denouncing the current priesthood, the Jewish priesthood, that he made the pronouncement that we are NEVER AGAIN to call anyone else FATHER or TEACHER- this means that we should never have a priesthood again! Please note Matthew 23:

1Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples: 2“The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. 3So you must be careful to do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach. 4They tie up heavy, cumbersome loads and put them on other people’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them.

5“Everything they do is done for people to see: They make their phylacteriesa wide and the tassels on their garments long; 6they love the place of honor at banquets and the most important seats in the synagogues; 7they love to be greeted with respect in the marketplaces and to be called ‘Rabbi’ by others.

8“But you are not to be called ‘Rabbi,’ for you have one Teacher, and you are all brothers. 9And do not call anyone on earth ‘father,’ for you have one Father, and he is in heaven. 10Nor are you to be called instructors, for you have one Instructor, the Messiah. 11The greatest among you will be your servant. 12For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.

13“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the door of the kingdom of heaven in people’s faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to. ”

He goes on to list the other six woes to the current priesthood. The Catholic church is sinning mightily against Christ’s commands on this and many scores. How the Catholic church can call these early churches ‘Catholic’ is truly a joke. Truly. It is laughable. You want me to post your comments, which are full of lies, with links to Catholic sites, full of bad information? No. Why should I confuse my readers in that way? Why should I be a conduit for your propaganda? Get your own blog for that. If you want to make a point, use your own words and I will post it. No links, sorry. The fact is this- you haven’t done your own work. You go to crippled, biased sites full of corrupt information and then post links to it. Next time, go to reputable, scholarly sites and read up. Then, come back and summarize properly in your own words. You are incorrect in what you wrote. The Catholics ADDED the books after the original cannon was set. That was why he opposed them. Why you find that hard to fathom is strange to me. It is based on this late addition that Luther and MANY OTHERS objected to their continued inclusion in the Bible. They were always controversial in their addition. Those books remain controversial throughout the Christian world. They remain important throughout the Christian world. However, most of the Christian world do not consider them to be God inspired- they are considered to be important historically, however. They are studied in seminary and well known to all Christian scholars. It isn’t as if they were thrown out of the Christian world. But to consider them to be the actual, holy Word of God? Well, almost no one believes that except the Catholics. Sorry to disappoint you, but that is the truth. There are also MANY, MANY other letters and books written about Jesus and the apostles during this time that are important. They aren’t included either. You can hem and haw all you want, but such is life.

  6. Why do you think these cults exist in the first place? The reason is due to Luther’s doctrine of sola scriptura. When you take away apostolic tradition and the magisterium, you can then personally interpret the scriptures to say anything you personally believe. There’s only one true Church and it is Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox. Everything else is personal interpretation and non authoritative.

    • Oh, please. These cults existed way before the Catholic church existed. You can read about them in the books written by Paul. He tells of how people were attempting to tell people about Christ but also saying that he was never resurrected- or that he was not the Son of God, etc. He rebuked the churches for allowing these people to take a place of prominence in their church. These people have been around from the very beginning. So, again, please get a little education before you speak. People all want a piece of the Jesus action. Jesus is powerful. He captures the human imagination in a way that no other ‘religious’ figure ever has. That is because of one thing: the human being has literally been created with a gaping hole in his center: a Jesus shaped hole. Only Jesus can fulfill the human spirit. When a human being meets Jesus for real, he compels him completely. Thus, hucksters of every stripe try to emulate Jesus in some fashion- just to hold some powerful sway over other human beings- for all kinds of nefarious purposes. Not because there is no grand Catholic authority out there slapping everybody’s wrists! Even if there were, do you really think these cretins would really respect it’s rules? Are you really that naïve? Please. These crooks would do what they to do regardless of the Catholic Church. What could the Catholic Church do to them? They would just laugh at them. As they do today. Would you give the Catholic Church the power to burn the Mormons at the cross today? They have no power on this earth to stop ‘heresy’ of any kind! Your statements defending the Catholic church are both nonfactual and illogical, Sterve. While I can appreciate anyone’s love of their church, I think they should at least speak the truth when they defend it. Especially if they plan on attacking other people in the process. Don’t you?

  7. My Dear, This is a warning to you.- You yourself have been fooled by Satan and do not even know it. Moreover and even worse, you are misleading others in your ignorance. Watch the film on here, listen carefully to the TRUTH in the Bible and consider whose side you are really on.
    [Izzy’s useless link that I won’t post].

    • Is that a threat, Izzy? I think I will have to report you to WordPress and the police. You ‘warn’ me? See, the great thing about knowing Christ is that you don’t need to go around threatening people- you are simply confident of what you know. For those who reject the Word of Christ, we simply dust off our sandals at you and move on. Please note that I never chase you around. I have you email address- heck, I have your IP address- did you know that Word press gives that to me every time you post here? I could locate you on Google map and come to your house to speak to you personally if I wanted to. But note that I don’t. That is because I am very confident and calm in my convictions. I have no desire to threaten or to force you to believe what I believe. I shake the dust off my sandals at you. Jesus said that it will be worse for you than it will be for Sodom and Gomorrah on the day of judgment. I am more than happy to allow Jesus to judge you. I have no desire to do it myself. I have too many other people who need to hear about Jesus. Sometimes I allow your comments on my page to demonstrate what happens to people when they leave Christ or abandon God. Your comments reek of hate and anger. I allow your comments to warn others to not become like you. Not because I take them seriously. You have lost the ability to reason. You sound demented and you don’t even realize it.

      • He was warning you as you are warning others about your true belief. Then you threatened to come into his house. If anyone comes into my house in an aggressive manner you are leaving as a corpse, no ifs and or buts. If I am forced to defend myself, in a defensive manner, defensively, Ill pull the trigger till my finger cramps, then have the cops haul away the body.

      • I don’t think the warning was made in the same manner. Nor do I think is yours. In fact, I believe you are making a death threat, Robert Bigsby. And I will be handing your threat over to the police. Along with your email and IP address. It will be up to them to determine what to do with that information. I do hope that you don’t ever think to carry out your threats. It isn’t ever worth violence, Robert.

  8. Hello,
I was wondering how you concluded this about SDA people saying:
“Seventh Day Adventists use the bible but they revere the writings of a woman named Ellen White and have a bizarre obsession with food and health. They follow a weird set of rules that are completely outside the bible, worship Ellen White rather than Jesus and do everything contrary to what God commands.

I am very close friends with an SDA and I can assure you that she does not worship Ellen White. Can you please clarify what you mean by “worship?” Do you mean the precise denotation of the word as in “to revere a person”? If so, Christians revere the epistles of Paul.. are we worshiping Paul?
Our bodies are a temple, and paying attention to what we put in our bodies shouldn’t be something seen as a “bizarre obsession”. Many SDAs I know tell me that their dietary restrictions are taken from the old testament- which after reading Deuteronomy and Leviticus, one can see the parallel.

I didn’t quite understand these dietary restrictions either since I am not an Adventist, and I don’t agree with them because of a verse in Romans that I’m not remembering right now and also like someone stated above, the Colossians 2 verse. However to say that they do EVERYTHING CONTRARY to God’s commands is quite contrary, or at least, exaggerated. My friend and many SDAs I know believe in the death and resurrection of Christ. They love their neighbors and love God- these two commands hang all the law and the prophets like Jesus said.

I hope I didn’t come off as offensive or aggressive, just curious to know your reasoning.
    Thank you 🙂

    • Hi, thanks for your question. I didn’t get into specifics in this article concerning the SDA’s. They have many other things besides. They also have many other things that set them apart- and all these other things are from Ellen White’s writings. I had a similar question asked in my FB page. I will just copy and paste it for you.

“Whenever a People chose to worship someone Else besides Jesus in a church, then they are worshipping an idol. Just because they happen to throw Jesus into the mixture doesn’t matter. These people follow Ellen White. They use her teachings. They worship on Sat. instead of Sun- this is a form of the Hebrew Roots Movement, which, in and of itself, is a denial of Christ’s work on earth. They follow a theology that is not biblical- ie, they follow Ellen White’s 28 Fundamental Beliefs, not the Holy Bible, as their theology- if you look up their church online, you will see these listed as their fundamental guidelines, not the Holy Bible. In addition, Ellen White created the theory of The Great Conflict, which is unbiblical. There is no Great Conflict in the bible. The bible clearly states that satan has already lost. Jesus said that satan knows that his days are numbered and THAT is why he is so angry. There is no battle, no conflict! The ending is clear- God has ALREADY triumphed! The idea that God is STILL in conflict is to DENY the victory of the cross! There is nothing more evil than that!

In addition, they, like other cults, believe that ONLY the SDA’s are saved- WE are all going to hell except them. Ellen White also determined, on her own, that there was a very specific date (somewhere around 1845) where the Rapture and the return of Christ would occur. Sadly, when that date came and went, instead of repenting, she simply changed her mind and said that it wasn’t a literal date but a symbolic date. She then claimed that Jesus is a mere priest in heaven and that instead of coming to resurrect the dead on that date, he merely began judging the dead since that date. ALL of this is hogwash and expressly against the teachings of Christ. The bible expressly states that NO ONE shall know the date of Christ’s return- not even Christ himself! And yet, here is Ellen White who claims to know?? And when she is made the fool, she doesn’t repent, but makes her lies even worse?? NONE of this is what Christ taught or is in agreement with his Personhood as described in the bible. Listen, just because people say they LOVE Jesus and BELIEVE in Jesus doesn’t mean a thing. As Jesus said, many will call on him and say, “Lord, Lord,” and he will say, “I don’t know you. Go away, you EVIL servant!” These people have been trained to speak the words that will tickle a Christians ears. They are riding our coat tails to get and retain legitimacy. You are responsible for what you do and say and God will ask you how you handled yourself on this earth. Especially as I have now told you about it. Now, you have been told. Now, if you don’t believe me, you must research on your own. I can assure you that this church, the SDAs are NOT the normal Christian church. Do I believe that some true Christians can be tricked into believing they are attending a true church? Wellllll….. kinda, maybe. But only very, very weak minded ones. Only ones who wish to be ‘superior’ to their brothers. Many of these kinds of weak Christians are attracted to these cults because they are legalistic to begin with. They like the extra rules and they like that it meets on Sat. They feel more holy. They feel like ‘better’ Christians. They like the dietary laws and the adherence to Mosaic Laws. It just makes them feel superior to other Christians. They like believing that they are the ‘true Remnant’ spoken of in the bible. So, their hearts are bad to begin with. The SDA, the Masons and the Mormons all prey on the most evil aspects of the human heart- selfishness, pride, arrogance. No true Christian could be lured by such things and would see right through them instantly. Thus, no true Christian could be fooled by them. So… no, no true Christian could be fooled. Your friend doesn’t love Christ. He loves being better than you. I’m sorry to tell you that, but its true.

    • lol. So true. Standing publically is what gets you into hot water. Note that I am being sued for telling the truth about my rape in 1986. A person has a choice in this life- you can either be a truth teller or an ass-grabber- there doesn’t seem to be an in-between option. (sorry for the curse word there but a replacement word just doesn’t do the trick quite as well! lol)

  9. I noticed you did not mention Jehovah’s Witness in your article, and was wondering what your opinion is of them as a Christian or a cult? They are very strong in their belief, and do not approve of celebrating Christmas or any holidays, that I am aware of. I, once, began searching through the Bible to see if I could find any Biblical scripture to support their belief, and, almost immediately found a scripture which said: ” Do not let anyone condemn you for keeping a celebration” . The Catholic Bible says “Let no one call you to account for what you eat or drink or in regard to a festival, or a new moon, or a Sabbath.” Colossians, Chapter 2, verse 8. I had my answer. Just wanted to hear your thoughts on this. I was not born into the Catholic faith, but took lessons and became one after I married a Catholic.

    • Ladybug, Sorry, I’ve spoken many times about the JWs. They are indeed a cult- I changed the article to include them. The Catholic bible has a few extra books that are not in the standard bible. I do have a problem with those additions because of very corrupt reasons for adding them. The Catholic church became very upset with the Protestant movement and lost a lot of money when people left. They made up the money with selling indulgences for purgatory. Purgatory was not in the original bible. Thus, they added a book that included Purgatory by name so they could sell indulgences. In addition, the original bible has Jesus telling us to never call any man ‘Father’ which makes it very, very clear that we are not to have priests who are set above us spiritually- we are all equal. The Catholic church ADDED a book that specifically addressed the idea of priests. I don’t think these books belong in the bible. They weren’t in the original canon set by the apostles and were added over a thousand years later by a corrupt Catholic pope. I have forgotten the names of these books- easy to google. But they haven’t taken out any books from the original canon. Protestants use only the original canon. Now, as to being condemned for a celebration. Well, that depends. That passage was written by Apostle Paul and was meant to dispel improper criticism and superstition. For example, some new Christians were freaking out about eating meat that had been sacrificed to pagan idols. Paul thought it was ok because the meat was just meat. Since there is no such thing as Isis, the meat is not actually corrupted. God owns the meat. God redeemed the meat as Jesus redeemed the Gentile. The laws of clean vs. unclean were to symbolize the Jew vs. the Gentile. Jesus adopted the Gentile- thus, the clean vs. the unclean were no longer relevant. But this doesn’t mean that we can’t sin when we have a ceremony worshiping God. If you pray to Mary, then you are sinning against God. That is clear. There is only one God. To pray to Mary or a saint is to hold them up as idols. My Catholic friend explained that she wasn’t worshiping Mary, but was ‘talking’ to her and asking her to talk to God for her. Well, I guess that might be ok by God. But Jesus told us that we could go boldly and directly to God himself in prayer- so why use an intercessor???? That seems a bit convoluted and inefficient, doesn’t it? Why would sending Mary to talk to God please God? Why not speak to him yourself? What I’m trying to say is to read your bible. I highly suggest throwing out the Catholic version (with the three or so extra books) and read only the original bible. Pray only to God and Jesus and then you can attend Catholic church as much as you like. I happen to love Catholic Mass. It is beautiful. I light a candle for my mother every chance I get.

  10. I am glad you wrote this. At first I disagreed with you unfriending Mormons etc, but like you said, you run a public page that I do not. And new Christians are very much at risk for hearing false doctrine. My entire family is Mormon. I was born and raised Mormon. Many of it’s people are so deceived, so brainwashed, so indoctrinated that their church is their whole life……their very existence is all everything Mormon.
I have shared many times with them once I learned of the lies and what being a Christian really is. Now, I try my best to show them. I love them, from afar. Because I walked away publicly from the Mormon church I have been mostly ostrich-sized by most of them. I still love them. I still try to show them, and be how Jesus would have me be to them.

    • Christal, could you please give some counseling words to Joseph above (or did it post below?). He is a Mormon who says I am lying about everything. But I’m not. You being ostracized by everyone is exactly the sign of a cult. That is why it is so threatening to hear the truth as a Mormon. You don’t just get to change your mind on something. You have to lose your entire life- and if you have kids, this hurts them profoundly. Cults know how to isolate and damage people if they decide to leave. That is exactly why cults survive.
